Levees.org - Sandy Rosenthal
In partnership with local residents, Levees.org will soon install a Louisiana Historic Plaque at the London Avenue Canal’s east breach site.
This will be Levees.org's second such Plaque. At the Fifth Anniversary of the Levee Breaches, we installed a Plaque at the 17th Street Canal breach site.
Levees.org will raise the money to pay for the new Plaque and will recruit volunteers to install it. The target unveiling date is late March or early April 2011.
The Plaque will assure that the basic historical information about the London Avenue Breach Site will be there for everyone to see.
New Orleans City Councilwoman Cynthia Hedge Morrell applauds the Project and has pledged her office's full support for the next Plaque.
