An update from Nepal
Thousands of animals have been affected, alongside their human companions. Family pets, street dogs and livestock have been killed, injured, lost or abandoned. Animals continuing to suffer from starvation, dehydration and exposure is anticipated in the coming weeks.
Thankfully, the HSI Animal Rescue Team is in action right now providing emergency veterinary assistance, shelter for lost and abandoned animals and vaccinations for dogs and farm animals to prevent disease outbreaks. And they're also armed with veterinary supplies to assist local animal welfare groups in the affected areas.
The HSI team is doing everything they can to reach as many animals as possible, as quickly as possible. And here at home, our thoughts are with the people and animals of Nepal.
Sincerely,
