Lindsey Graham Turns Tables On Impeachment Dems – Tells Them ‘It’s Either All Or None’ On Witnesses
Adam Casalino
Democrats have been pushing to have their way in the Senate impeachment trial. But Lindsey Graham isn’t going to stand for it.
Many Republicans, including Trump, have accused Democrats of using their demand for witnesses as an attempt at a do-over.
Most agree that the House did a rush job of impeachment. They forced through their impeachment inquiry, claiming national security reasons, while the President claimed his basic right to a defense was being denied.
But now, after the investigation and a month-long wait, they want to bring out more witnesses during the Senate trial.
Graham just laid down the law, making it clear if Democrats force witnesses, they are going to regret it.
From The Federalist Papers:
Today, on Fox News Sunday, South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, just laid down the law to Democrats when it comes to witnesses during President Trump’s impeachment trial.
“If we call one witness, we’re gonna call all the witnesses. There’s not gonna be a process where the Democrats get their witnesses and the president gets shut out…” Graham said.
Graham slammed Democrats’ attempt to get witnesses during the Senate trial.
He said if they have to call one witness, they are going to call all the witnesses. That means that if Democrats get their way—and get people to throw Trump under the bus—then the president will get to call his witnesses.
All of them.
Which means people that should have been interviewed during the House process will finally take the stand.
That could include Joe and Hunter Biden, the so-called whistleblower, and Adam Schiff—who may have lied about what he knew and admits to reading a “joke” version of the Ukrainian call.
Democrats seem to want to drag out this trial for as long as they can. If they could, they’d make it last until November, but that’s not going to be possible.
They are looking for witnesses who can bolster their weak case against Trump. So far, we don’t believe there has been any hard evidence against the president.
Instead, we just got a bunch of D.C. insiders giving their opinion on the matter. Even when asked, they could not point to a clear thing Trump said that was impeachable.
Do we really need a do-over for that?
But this could be a blessing in disguise. Let Democrats try to get John Bolton on the stand. Then Lindsey Graham says the President will have complete freedom to call and subpoena his own witnesses.
