TSA responds to concerns about naked body scanners by capturing nude images in secret

(NaturalNews) Instead of rightfully scrapping the entire "enhanced" system of airport screenings, which includes the invasive and radioactive naked body scanners, the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced recently that it is uploading a software patch that will make nude appear as a more generic human form.

Set to be installed on millimeter wave technology units at 41 airports, the software will present a generic image of a human form on output screens as travelers proceed through them, and pinpoint any areas of concern for TSA agents to analyze.

If the traveler is not considered a threat, he or she will be allowed to move through without having a naked image appear. And if any anomalies are present, the screen will outline them in red boxes on the same generic human silhouette.

"This software upgrade enables us to continue providing a high levels of security through advanced imaging technology screening, while improving the passenger experience at checkpoints," alleged TSA Administrator John S. Pistole in a statement.

Unfortunately, however, the software "fix" will do nothing to prevent naked images from still being captured by the computers. Even though TSA screeners may not immediately have access to nude images, those images can still be captured and stored for others to see, so it is practically a useless "upgrade," at least as far as privacy is concerned.

The fix also does not address the constitutionality of the machines, which continue to be used in violation the Fourth Amendment to the US Constitution (http://www.naturalnews.com/030381_n...), nor does it prevent the machines from emitting cancer-causing radiation at both passengers and TSA screeners (http://www.naturalnews.com/030607_n...). In other words, the fix is a poor attempt at placating the public, and will likely end up just backfiring against the TSA.
