The Thought Police Are Coming

“If you think it we can incarcerate or kill you,” speaks the undertone of the measure. This administration has been making ready the facilities, which include cremation chambers. While this formalizes their intended direction the agenda to train police has been in motion for some time now.
In September I attended a meeting of the National Federation of Republican Women. After the luncheon, which was a rather nice salad, came the speaker; in this case a local deputy sheriff whose supposed topic was gang violence. I listened politely, though the fact that schools have miserably failed children while continuing to cost ever more and deliver instead of education meaningless pseudo history that is actually outrageous disinformation was not actually lost on many of the ladies attending.
The deputy droned on, pointing to the jerry-rigged screen on which he was projecting the slides from his computer. We viewed tattoos (nasty looking) strange hairdoos, and young people who looked sad. We were told they were members of gangs identifying themselves by colors. The deputy, who did not look unlike them, actually, told us enthusiastically about the history of their respective gangs.
Then, about a third of the way through the presentation, my ears pricked up. It is not normally easy to shock me but this did.
The rather squat deputy sheriff was describing political dissent as a form of gang activity. Laboriously he explained that trying to change American government was criminal. A chill ran through my back. I looked around. The ladies were looking at him quizzically; I could tell that this had moved beyond their ability to comprehend the meaning. We had just entered the world of corporate fascism at a NFRW meeting in a small town in middle America.
The world will never be the same again; It will be better because real Americans are not going to put up with this. Freedom is something Americans have taken for granted but it is something they will not give up without a fight. William Wallace would have understand the threshold just passed. The Bruce would have picked up his battle ax and smote the speaker down.
So when the House passed 1955 the following did not surprise me. I had been warned that day at my local NFRW meeting, right between the Pledge of Allegiance and the closing prayer.
“(2) VIOLENT RADICALIZATION- The term `violent radicalization' means the process of adopting or promoting an extremist belief system for the purpose of facilitating ideologically based violence to advance political, religious, or social change.
3. HOMEGROWN TERRORISM- The term `homegrown terrorism' means the use, planned use, or threatened use, of force or violence by a group or individual born, raised, or based and operating primarily within the United States or any possession of the United States to intimidate or coerce the United States government, the civilian population of the United States, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives.”
Even the ladies in NFRW will wake up when they understand. The Bush Administration has declared war on America and we will respond as needed. To be an American is to affirm the following as the singular heritage of a people who understood that freedom would never been free. Contrary to what George W. Bush said, there are no limits to freedom.
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, —
That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.
Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.”
