Democrats’ opposition to border security is now verging on the insane.

They have worked to block President Trump’s efforts to build a wall at every move.

But this former Obama ally just stunned them with an explosive ad.

Democrats are lockstep in opposition to President Trump’s proposal to build a wall with Mexico.

Except one.

Mark Morgan, who had previously served as chief of border patrol under President Obama, is now out with a powerful ad that slams Democrats who oppose the wall.

Morgan, who served in the post until President Trump took office, has emerged as a vocal supporter of the movement to build a wall with Mexico, citing figures that point to a dramatic drop in illegal crossings and crime in areas where walls already exist.

Breitbart reports, “The Trump-aligned America First Policies group released an ad Tuesday featuring Obama’s chief of border patrol Mark Morgan to pressure Rep. Matt Cartwright (D-PA) to back full funding of President Donald Trump’s border wall.”

Morgan slammed Cartwright in the ad.

“We need more resources, we need the wall,” he said.

The ad was put together by a conservative non-profit working to advocate for one of President Trump’s major campaign agenda items.

Promising to secure the border and build the wall is what allowed Trump to break out of the presidential primary field in the first place, and eventually defeat Hillary Clinton in the general election.

And now he’s found an unlikely ally in a former Obama administration official.

Morgan left the post after Trump’s inauguration in order to let the President appoint a new official of his own choosing.

But he has been a strong supporter of the President’s agenda when it comes to securing the border.

The conservative group running the ad, America First Policies, plans to spend a combined $130,000 on television and digital ads in Congressman Cartwright’s district, encouraging him to support efforts to build the wall and secure the border.

The campaign could serve as the open rounds of what will likely be a contentious 2020 election cycle.

Pennsylvania is set to be one of the hottest battlegrounds in two years, as several Congressional seats and the state’s 20 electoral votes will be on the line in the race for control over Congress and the White House.

And the numbers suggest this ad could make the difference in several close races.

According to Breitbart, “A poll released in January found that 52 percent of Pennsylvanians in Democrat-controlled districts believe that the ‘current situation at the border between the United States and Mexico represent a national security threat to the US.’”

53% of those polled also support building a wall along the border with Mexico, while just 43% oppose the proposal.

These numbers suggest that several seats which flipped to the Democrats in 2018 could flip back to Republican control in 2020, especially if the issue of immigration and border security is brought to the forefront.
