As cartels battle it out for territory in Mexico bystanders are being caught in the crossfire. Many of these cartels are attempting to smuggle drugs into the US and rival cartels are stopping them so they can use the trafficking routes.

According to the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) illegal Immigrants are more likely to commit a crime. They studied 10 states and observed how many illegal immigrants were in jail in comparison to non-illegal immigrants, they found that illegal immigrants were more likely to be in state prisons.

Over 320 pounds of Methamphetamine, as well as 46 pounds of other drugs ranging from heroin and marijuana to fentanyl and cocaine, were recovered from a car that was attempting to get into the United States. This happened Friday, March 1st and the border patrol have made arrests.

Human traffickers were arrested after being stopped while heading to California. Charges have been filed against the two and authorities plan on sending the people they were smuggled back to their country of origin. Sadly this is not uncommon as many arrests have been made in recent times regarding human trafficking at the border.
