Kuala Lumpur War Crimes Commission verdict - Bush & Blair GUILTY.
Here's the introduction from the GUILTY VERDICT online:
The two accused, George W Bush and Anthony L. Blair, at the material times the Heads of Government of the United States of America and the United Kingdom respectively, have been charged by the Chief Prosecutor of the Kuala Lumpur War Crimes Commission with having committed CRIMES AGAINST PEACE, in that they have planned, prepared and invaded the sovereign state of Iraq on 19 March 2003 in violation of the United Nations Charter and international law. The Particulars of the Charge state, inter alia, that on 19 March 2003, the two accused launched a war against Iraq without the sanction of the United Nations and without just cause whatsoever. Surprisingly, there was no specific mention of either the 7th July 2005 London bombing or the 11th March 2004 Madrid train bombing, but the most curiously interesting piece in this 11-page document comes right at the end. It's a peculiar STAB in the general direction of George H.W. Bush, W's daddy, who gave an ominous 'New World Order' speech on September 11th 1992 where he used the exact phrase, 'the rule of law, rather than the law of the jungle':
The 2003 invasion of Iraq was an unlawful act of aggression and an international crime. It “cannot be justified under any reasonable interpretation of international law”. It violates “the outer limits of laws regulating the use of force”. It amounts to mass murder. Unlawful use of force in Iraq “threatens to return us to a world in which the law of the jungle prevails over the rule of law, with potentially disastrous consequences for the human rights not only of the Iraqis but of people throughout the region and the world”. [source K.L.W.C.C.]
The big thing, for me, to come out of this 'theoretical examination' or 'pre-trial' is the role of the United Nations in recent global politics ... it seems that, mostly, the U.N. is a heavily-lobbied and truly-cynical global bully who goes in to cut off supply chain of competitors in the so-called Free Market. And it's pointless being precious about this, the MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX sells weapons all over the world, every day. It's one of their greatest industries. If you wanna know how the war machine really works, listen to Bill Hicks talking about the first Gulf War under H.W. it still rings true through all this.
