Roger Stone was found guilty on 7 counts this morning and is facing time behind bars. His sentencing hearing will take place on February 6th but he will be allowed to remain free until then. It is unknown as to how much time he will get considering the many issues that took place at the trail.

     This leaves three questions:

What was he found guilty of?

    Will this hurt Trump?

    Will Trump pardon him?

At this stage only the first two can be answered, here is what Roger Stone was found guilty of:

Stone was found guilty on charges of witness tampering among other charges. The charge of witness tampering stem from Stone’s interactions with Liberal comedian Randy Credico. It is alleged that Credico tipped Roger Stone off about Wikileaks’ plan to release information damaging to the Clinton Campaign. Stone’s text messages with the comedian gave prosecutors cause to charge him with witness tampering.

The Obstruction charges that Stone was found guilty on also stem from his interactions with comedian Randy Credico. The prosecution alleged that the texts between the two served as evidence that Stone was trying to obstruct a potential investigation into the DNC leak.

    3.) Lying to Congress

Stone allegedly lied to Congress when he told them he did not remember having a phone call with the President about Wikileaks, according to records and testimony he did, in fact, have a call with the President about Wikileaks' potential releasing information. There was no direct connection between the Trump campaign in WikiLeaks, Stone simply got tipped off by Randy Credico.

Will this hurt the President? No, many Democrats see the President as being the end all be all of the evil, while many Republicans see the charges against Stone as being Ludacris. These charges are not changing any minds about the President or Roger Stone.

How likely is Roger Stone to get a Pardon? No one knows. Roger Stone and the President have been long-time associates and Stone has always been loyal to the Republican party but politics might muddle his chances. Trump may have to wait until after the 2020 election to pardon Stone, or perhaps he will pardon Stone to bolster his 2020 campaign. It’s too early to tell.
