Jussie Smollett is back in the news again.

And once again, the former “Empire” actor has been dealt a stunning defeat.

As most of you are aware, Smollett allegedly staged a hate crime last year, and has since been battling accusations of filing a false police report.

The case has since gone to the Illinois Supreme Court, where Smollett hoped he’d get a break.

Specifically, he asked the court to dismiss the case against him, before the proceedings actually went to trial.

However, unfortunately for the embattled actor, the judge wasn’t in a forgiving mood.

Via RedState:

‘Empire’ actor Jussie Smollett just got some not-so-good news after his latest attempt to avoid accountability for allegedly staging a racist and homophobic hate crime last year.

On Friday, the Illinois Supreme Court rejected his request to dismiss the charges against him.

Too bad, Jussie!

Smollett’s lawyers tried to get the case thrown out, but it didn’t work.

They filed an emergency petition, claiming that Cook County Circuit Judge Michael Toomin abused his authority by assigning a special prosecutor.

But no dice. The court lawyer refused to dismiss the case, and now Smollett must stand trial.

In my opinion, this trial absolutely needs to happen. There appears to be enough evidence against the defendant, and America deserves the truth.

Remember, this is someone who claimed he was attacked while in “MAGA country.” Smollett said two men beat him and wrapped a noose around his neck.

That’s a pretty serious crime.

Unfortunately for Smollett, though, his story didn’t ring true with authorities. They couldn’t seem to find any evidence that such an attack took place.

And now, many believe the actor invented the entire thing. If he did, it’s just plain disgraceful, and he should be punished.

The only question left is — will he be found guilty in a court of law?

I guess we’ll find out soon enough!
