Former President Trump is reportedly set to file lawsuits against two of Big Tech’s most powerful overlords, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
According to reports from Axios, Trump is expected to announce the pair of lawsuits today. The monumental move comes amid a long battle between Trump and the Big Tech company’s decisions to ban his account and censor his and other conservative voices. After the Capitol riot in January, Twitter and Facebook both banned Trump from their platforms.
According to Axios:
Trump’s legal effort is supported by the America First Policy Institute, a non-profit focused on perpetuating Trump’s policies.
The group’s president and CEO and board chair, former Trump officials Linda McMahon and Brooke Rollins, will accompany him during the announcement.
Class action lawsuits would enable him to sue the two tech CEOs on behalf of a broader group of people that he argues have been censored by biased policies.
Trump is expected to make the announcement today at 11 am, which he seemed to allude to in a statement sent out by his Save America PAC.
“Major press conference at 11:00AM EDT!” Trump said.
The Hill reports:
“Our case will prove this censorship is unlawful, it’s unconstitutional and it’s completely un-American,” Trump said Wednesday from his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey.
