We have had it. This disgrace has gone on for far too long. Conservatives got out the vote that brought a Republican president to the White House against all odds, as he defeated the Clinton political machine. We also returned Republican majorities to both houses of Congress. Then we get a kick in the teeth from RINOs like McCain, Graham, Ryan, McConnell, and far too many others who are trying to outdo the Democrats in obstructing the president.

The Republican party has its share of cowards and disloyal members. Embarrassments to the party such as John McCain can bloviate about “standing on principles,” but we know that is garbage. There is a considerable list of RINOs who must be vigorously opposed in future Republican primaries.

Another approach that would be helpful would be to remove them from their leadership positions now. Ryan, out as Speaker. McCain, out as Chairman of Armed Services. And perhaps at the top of the list, Mitch McConnell needs to get the boot as Senate Majority Leader, if for no other reason than his consistent record of failure. What about the border wall? What about the repeal and replace of Obamacare? McConnell gets an “F” for his leadership performance. Hence, it comes as no surprise that conservative groups want McConnell and his cronies out, and their replacement by actual conservatives who will get the job done.

“The leaders of several conservative groups called Wednesday for Mitch McConnell to step down as Senate majority leader, arguing the Kentucky Republican and the rest of his team should be ousted from their posts because they have not implemented the conservative agenda they promised.”

No kidding. Either McConnell & Company are incapable of leading, or they oppose the conservative agenda. Either way, out they go.

“‘We call on all five members of the GOP Senate leadership to step down, or for their caucus to remove them as soon as possible,’ Ken Cuccinelli, the former attorney general of Virginia who now leads the Senate Conservatives Fund, said at a Wednesday press conference on Capitol Hill.

“All the leaders come from anti-Republican establishment organizations with ties to the Tea Party movement. They have long been thorns in McConnell’s side and have backed conservative challengers to Republican incumbents in Senate races. They include representatives from FreedomWorks, the Tea Party Patriots and For America.”

It’s time for a reality check. Either McConnell and his team get the boot, or it’s time to admit that getting results is simply unimportant. This failure to lead, and interminable debate, is a drag on the country and a betrayal of the conservative Republicans who returned Republican majorities to both houses. It is disgraceful to slap them in face by providing such pathetic losers as party leaders.

If that sounded harsh, here’s the stinging indictment of McConnell and his team issued by a collection of conservative groups. Wonder what he thought of this letter?

“‘You and the rest of your leadership team were given the majority because you pledged to stop the steady flow of illegal immigration,’ the letter states. ‘You have done nothing. You pledged to reduce the size of this oppressive federal government. You have done nothing. You pledged to reduce, and ultimately eliminate the out-of-control deficit spending that is bankrupting America. You have done nothing. You promised to repeal Obamacare, “root and branch.” You have done nothing. You promised tax reform. You have done nothing.'”

In the real world of business, Mr. McConnell would be fired for incompetence, laziness, conflicts of interest, or whatever is causing him to fail so abysmally, and hurt both the country and the conservative cause in so doing.

McConnell and several others need to hear those words, “You’re fired!”
