Nancy Pelosi and Donald Trump are locked in a battle of wills over funding a proposed border wall.

Pelosi thought she had seized the upper hand in the fight by playing a dirty trick on President Trump.

But then Trump left Pelosi seeing red after this shocking announcement.

Pelosi believed she knew how to get under Donald Trump’s skin.

Speaker Pelosi recently fired off a letter to the President insisting he reschedule the January 29^th State of the Union address due to security concerns.

Pelosi claimed that since Secret Service agents were not being paid due to the government shutdown, the agency could not guarantee security for the President, both houses of Congress, cabinet officials, Supreme Court Justices, and all the guests who would attend the event.

This was clearly fake news and nothing more than a political stunt.

But that did not stop Pelosi’s allies in the fake news media from cheering her for playing “hardball” and ruining Trump by denying him a nationally televised platform to promote his accomplishments and chastise the Democrats to their face for putting the needs of illegal aliens ahead of American citizens.

However, their celebration did not last long.

That’s because Trump had his own cards to play.

The administration announced they were moving ahead with the State of the Union and dared Pelosi to rescind her invitation.

ABC News exclusively reported:

A senior administration official confirmed to ABC News that the White House has sent an email to the House Sergeant at Arms requesting a walkthrough of the chamber to prep for the State of the Union address. The White House is still moving forward as planned on the address as they wait to hear whether Pelosi is officially rescinding her invitation.

Trump really turned the tables on Pelosi.

If Pelosi rescinds her invitation, the Speaker will look petty and political.

And it won’t even matter, because Trump has other options to deliver the speech.

Legislators in North Carolina and Michigan invited the President to deliver the State of the Union from their state houses.

These are key 2020 battleground states where Trump could benefit politically by taking his message directly to the voters and bask in the local media coverage of a once-in-a-lifetime political opportunity.

But the White House is looking at a location in the capitol for the President to deliver the State of the Union.

One option is the Senate.

The traditional setting of the House of Representatives appears unlikely since Congress does need to invite the President.

And while Pelosi already extended an invitation which Trump accepted, both houses of Congress must pass a resolution to make it official.

They have yet to do so.

That means Pelosi could technically disinvite Trump from giving the State of the Union in the House.

But she has no control over the Senate.

Republicans run that chamber.

Which means Trump could still perform this modern American political ritual and one up Pelosi.
