Nancy Pelosi was counting on Robert Mueller to draw a road map that led to removing Donald Trump from office.

Democrats were waiting for the special counsel’s final report before swooping in for the kill shot.

But then Pelosi got the most unexpected news of her life.

If Democrats are waiting for Robert Mueller to issue a final report, they could be waiting until the end of time.

John Dowd – who represented Trump for the first part of the Mueller investigation – does not believe Mueller will even submit a final report.

Dowd told ABC News podcast, ‘The Investigation,’ that he believes Mueller will wrap up his investigation and close up shop without issuing a final report.

“I don’t think there’ll be a report,” Dowd declared during the interview. “I will be shocked if anything regarding the president is made public, other than ‘We’re done.’”

Mueller is not obligated to submit a report detailing all his findings to Congress.

The special counsel is only required to submit a report to the Attorney General explaining why he brought the charges that he did and why he did not bring other charges.

Dowd told ABC he knows what Mueller has and it amounts to a big fat zero.

“I know exactly what [Mueller] has,” Trump’s former lawyer stated. “I know exactly what every witness said, what every document said. I know exactly what he asked. And I know what the conclusion or the result is.”

Dowd explained that he came to this conclusion by interviewing witnesses and concluded the investigation was a complete waste of time.

Dowd also agreed with Trump about the true nature of the Mueller probe, calling it “one of the greatest frauds this country’s ever seen.”

“What I call nickel-dime process crimes. I ran a strike force. I ran big corruption cases. I didn’t go around, picking scabs and just making any case I could make. If there was a petty case, I shifted it to someone else. I didn’t do it. And that’s where I disagree with Bob,” he told ABC.

Dowd also addressed one of the biggest controversies in the entire Mueller probe – would Donald Trump sit for an interview with the special counsel?

Trump’s former attorney explained that he advised against it because Mueller could set up Trump for a perjury trap.

“In my questioning him or talking to him, you know, first question, easy. Second question, easy. Third question, he wasn’t sure. And he doesn’t like being unsure. So he’ll guess,” Dowd explained. “There’s your trap, right there. It’s not whether he lies or not… It’s not a matter of integrity. It’s overload.”

Finally, Dowd told ABC that it was ridiculous that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein allowed the probe to drag on for as long as it did.

“If I was supervising Mueller, [I would] tell him to ‘knock it off, get it done,” Dowd declared.

“Your job is to find out if there’s collusion or there was obstruction,” Trump’s former lawyer continued. “And the answer’s ‘no,’ so let’s get on with it.”

Dowd is not the first one to let the air out of Mueller’s balloon.

Multiple media outlets have reported in recent weeks that Mueller’s report – if he even issues one – will be anti-climactic.

So, if Pelosi was waiting on Mueller to do the heavy lifting and provide the grounds to impeach Trump, then she badly miscalculated.
