Congress has been holding up several aspects of aid that is supposed to be helping small businesses survive in the wake of the Coronavirus and several Congressmen have had enough. There is currently amounting bipartisan effort in Congress to get this vital aid through as the current aid has run dry and the impacts of the virus have proved to be greater than initially thought. 1.) The Problem Solver Caucus

A new caucus has formed to help in this bipartisan effort to get relief out to those in need, this caucus is the Problem Solver Caucus. This caucus is a clean split between Republicans and Democrats and anything that goes through will require at least 75% of the members giving it the go-ahead. This is the bipartisan caucus that will make an effort to help Americans and American businesses.

2.) Congressional Checklist

Congress has a checklist of things they want to get done on Coronavirus and in Washington, it is just another day, everyone has their own item to put on the agenda. This bipartisan group will likely get things done faster than the whole of Congress and they will likely do things with less political junk thrown into the various bills they are going to be working on.

A lot of the infighting and gridlock in Congress has been caused by a rejection of the White House’s plan to reopen America. Most of this push back is coming from the left as to be expected with anything coming out of the Trump administration.

4.) Bringing Companies Back To America

A big part of Congress’ agenda for this caucus is to help bring companies back to America, the big companies that are a priority are companies that produce medical equipment. Congress will be making a bipartisan effort to stop the manufacturing of crucial equipment in China, this is a direct consequence of the recent issues with China being unwilling to hand over the manufactured goods these companies had paid the country to make.

5.) Individual Relief for Rent and Mortgages

Another big item on the agenda is helping individuals and families pay rent and pay of mortgages as unemployment has spiked due to the Coronavirus pandemic. While these proposals are coming mainly from the left, many Republicans are supporting them.
