Could Kyle Rittenhouse be going to Capitol Hill? He might already have a job lined up.
During a recent interview, Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz said that he would be open to offering Rittenhouse an internship in his Congressional office.
The Washington Examiner reports:
“Kyle Rittenhouse would probably make a pretty good congressional intern,” Gaetz told Newsmax’s Grant Stinchfield Wednesday night. “We may reach out to him and see if he’d be interested in helping the country in additional ways.”
Rittenhouse, an 18-year-old Illinois cadet, currently faces five criminal charges ranging from intentional homicide to recklessly endangering safety that could land him behind bars for the rest of his life. The judge dismissed a misdemeanor gun possession charge Monday.
The jury has been undergoing deliberations since Tuesday.
The ruling has become a source of controversy across the United States, with many, such as podcast host Joe Rogan, slamming the media coverage as a “left-wing cult.” Several media figures, including MSNBC host Joy Reid, have accused Rittenhouse of being disingenuous in his emotional courtroom testimony, saying in a TikTok that America has a “thing” for “white tears,” which allows men such as Rittenhouse and Justice Brett Kavanaugh to evade accountability.
Rep. Gaetz is still under investigation by the Justice Department over allegations he paid underage girls for sex, however he has repeatedly denied the claims.
