Trump’s 6 Promises to Americans for His Second Term

Donald Trump is facing reelection this year as every American knows, while his campaign has been relatively quiet as of late it seems things are finally starting to ramp up. While visiting the Whirlpool Corporation in Ohio he laid out his 6 big goals for the second term. Trump did this in his typical Trump campaign fashion, he highlighted his accomplishments from the past 4 years and moved on to what’s going to happen in the future. Here are Trump’s 6 major goals for his second term:

1.) Defeat the Coronavirus 

Trump is promising to defeat the Coronavirus, this is certainly a fight that will take a while as these viruses’ can die down and creep back up months later. The administration has already made major progress towards a vaccine and has worked with American companies to create supplies that have helped those affected by the virus.

2.) Restore the Economy 

The economy was sacked by the Coronavirus and there was little we could do to mitigate the damage caused by this natural disaster. The administration is committing to restoring the economy to levels seen before the virus hit. Until the virus had hit the country had been doing great and was reaching new heights almost every quarter.

 

3.) The World’s Number One Medical Producer 

Trump has promised to use this newfound manufacturing power to turn America into the world’s largest producer of medical supplies. This would be a major victory for the country, America’s manufacturing industry has been hit hard over the last 30 years and if we have learned anything from this virus it is that we can not rely on China anymore. 

 

4.) Return To American Exceptionalism

It’s no secret that the America we all know and love has been relying on other countries for things we can do right here at home. Trump has promised to pull US involvement out of China and other foreign nations that do not have our best interests at heart. This applies to many industries, from manufacturing to tech. This promise is about protecting the US supply chain.

 

5.) American Manufacturing 

Trump plans on bringing back the powerhouse that was American manufacturing using any and every tool at his disposal. This is a major promise and this is the sort of change many would like to see. While making this promise he already moved on it, he had announced new tariffs on Canadian Aluminium.

6.) America First 

Trump’s final promise was to ensure that America’s workers are put first. This promise followed his signing of the “Buy American” executive order aimed at bringing jobs back to America. This was a key point in his 2016 campaign that was largely successful but the Coronavirus took its toll and we have to fight our way back to where we were.
