Anti-gun lawyers and their pals working within the federal bureaucracy may soon be targeting the National Association for Gun Rights for ELIMINATION.

Of course, I’ve had radical anti-gun groups and their pet lawyers, judges and politicians come after me before.

I’ve even been threatened with jail time in the past for my uncompromising defense of your Second Amendment rights.

But Patrick, unless you act TODAY, I’m afraid the gun-grabbers could finally succeed in shutting us up -- and shutting the National Association for Gun Rights down.

At the request of my attorney, David Warrington -- a close friend, former Marine and Chairman of NAGR’s Board of Directors -- several weeks ago, I attended a series of meetings with several lawyers who are all experts on grassroots organizations.

These attorneys specialize in defending pro-freedom groups like NAGR against spurious attacks from left-wing organizations and the anti-gun federal bureaucracy.

Going into it, I thought it was just a formality.  After all, NAGR doesn’t do anything wrong.

Liberal groups like MoveOn.org are renowned for their underhanded tactics, yet they seemingly get away with murder!

But these attorneys told me not to be naïve.

Washington, D.C. is quickly learning it was the National Association for Gun Rights’ massive three-million member army that was responsible for stopping Obama’s anti-gun assaults in the U.S. Senate.

It’s the National Association for Gun Rights that’s still fighting every new anti-gun scheme, every smoky backroom “deal,” every phony “compromise” they come up with.

And now, thanks to your support, NAGR is taking the lead fighting ratification of the U.N.’s so-called “Small Arms Treaty,” as well.

That’s why these attorneys told me, if the Obama administration believes for a second they have the opportunity for a “quick kill,” they won’t hesitate to drag NAGR into court.

Of course, a few days after I attended these meetings, news broke that President Obama’s IRS was targeting pro-liberty groups for harassment and Obama’s political enemies for intimidation.

Now, stories are hitting the news stating reporters who didn’t toe the Obama line were being wiretapped and spied on by the Obama Justice Department.

Whether it’s looking the other way while drug runners funnel guns across the border during the Fast and Furious scandal or the dirty third-world tactics you and I are just now learning about, the Obama administration has proven it will resort to ANYTHING to win.

Today, our Second Amendment rights are hanging by a thread, so I’m not leaving anything to chance.

You see, those attorneys told me my defense would be strongest only if as many folks as possible certify each year they do consider themselves to be members of NAGR.

There’s not a moment to waste because the fights in Congress are once again reaching a fever pitch.

After the tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut last December, the gun-grabbers believed the timing had never been better to RAM massive new gun control schemes down our throats.

The outpouring of opposition to their schemes from Patriots like you literally shocked them.

After the first round of votes, it was you and me who were left standing . . . and that has President Obama literally FURIOUS.

Both he and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid have guaranteed gun control would be back in Congress.

And now, after the first round of voting, they know EXACTLY which Senators’ arms they need to twist.

With gun-grabbers like BILLIONAIRE New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Sarah Brady and former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords launching massive TV ad buys targeting key Senators, I’m afraid the gun-grabbers could ram through their entire agenda, including:

*** Expanded or even universal “background check” (GUN REGISTRATION) legislation.  With these “background check” forms, President Obama and his pals can register, track and trace every firearm in America.

In fact, it’s the ONLY way they can enforce their universal “background check” scheme.

*** ATF Witch Hunt Legislation to dramatically increase penalties on gun owners for selling or giving a gun to anyone who happens to be a “prohibited person” -- which could end up changing dramatically since President Obama has issued an Executive Order instructing Eric Holder to review the classification.

This scheme is designed to hand the ATF all the tools it needs to terrorize gun owners until Second Amendment supporters start kicking and screaming to be able to prove their innocence with a national gun registry;

*** “Mental Health Restrictions.”  Have you ever served in the military or experienced a traumatic situation like a death in the family?  If you’re prescribed anything at all -- or even if you complain of stress to the wrong person -- that could be enough for you to lose your Second Amendment rights.

Former Surgeon General Steven Galson estimated that 46.4% of Americans experience some sort of mental illness during their lives!  To the gun-grabbers, disarming half of America for life with a simple mental health database within a year or two’s time sounds like a dream come true!

If you think battling these schemes should remain NAGR’s top priority, mark “FIGHT GUN CONTROL IN CONGRESS.”

But before you do, consider what else you and I have at stake.

Just weeks ago, the United Nations put the finishing touches on its “Small Arms Treaty.”

Today, with the full backing of the Obama administration, the Treaty is now headed for a Senate ratification showdown.

Disguised as a Treaty to combat international terrorism, piracy, and organized crime, the details of the Treaty prove it’s anything but.

As the Wall Street Journal states, ratification of the Treaty would “provide American gun control activists with a new tool for restricting Second Amendment rights.”

Article five of the Treaty would require the United States to mandate licenses for gun and ammo sales, and perhaps even bans on certain types of firearms -- like semi-auto rifles and handguns.

But the worst part is, the U.N.’s so-called “Small Arms Treaty” would create a full-blown global gun registry!

And you and I both know gun registration is the first step toward outright confiscation!

So this is not a fight you and I can afford to ignore.

Right now, Obama administration talking heads are just flat-out denying the Treaty would do anything at all to undermine our gun rights.  The national media is playing right along.

And in the wake of the Boston bombing, gun-grabbers think the threat of terrorism is fresh on people’s minds, giving them the perfect excuse to force this Treaty into law.

Not only that, but many Senators get queasy about killing treaties for fear of embarrassing the President -- especially with international prestige at stake.

They look at ratifying treaties much like approving the President’s Supreme Court nominees.  And you and I both know President Obama has had no trouble confirming even the most radical judicial nominees.

So if you think defeating this radical Treaty should be the National Association for Gun Rights’ top priority, please mark “DEFEAT THE U.N.’S SMALL ARMS TREATY.”

Of course, as you’ll see, there’s one more option listed on your SUPPORTERS' DIRECTIVE.
