My plan to defeat the UN Gun Ban
Dudley Brown - National Gun Rights
Earlier this year, you and I faced the greatest assault on gun rights I’ve seen in over a decade.
And we won.
From the Feinstein Gun Ban to universal gun registration your action had a direct impact.
Postcard and email petitions, emergency faxes, and melted switchboards made the pro-gun position of the American people clear.
But now we need to do it again . . .
You see, John Kerry just signed the UN Small Arms Treaty and it could come before the Senate for ratification any day.
When it does, you and I need to spring into action.
And it won’t be easy.
That’s because many Senators get “queasy” about killing treaties -- especially with “international prestige” at stake.
They look at ratifying treaties much like approving the President’s official nominees.
Remember how many Senators turned their backs on us and voted to confirm anti-gun ATF head B. Todd Jones?
So if we’re going to defeat the UN Small Arms Treaty, gun owners have to turn the heat up on the U.S. Senate now before it’s too late!
And I have just the plan to do it.
You see, my staff put together a top notch grassroots mobilization campaign to defeat Barack Obama and Harry Reid’s gun control.
We targeted key Senators with grassroots mailers, phone calls to constituents, e-mails, press conferences and even hard-hitting internet, radio and TV ads.
The whole nine yards.
Now we need to do it again.
I’ve calculated I need to raise at least $250,000 by next Wednesday to fund such a program.
Will you help me reach that goal by chipping in just $10 or $20 today?
The fact is, defeating the UN treaty could be harder than the fight we had earlier this year.
Worse, that fight cost us millions of dollars, an amount we haven’t even come close to raising again.
In order to put together my full plan, the National Association for Gun Rights needs an immediate influx of funds.
You see, there are about 15-20 Senators who need to feel some heat.
It’s the usual suspects.
Susan Collins in Maine, Mark Begich and Lisa Murkowski in Alaska, Jeff Flake and John McCain in Arizona, Kay Hagan in North Carolina, and Kelly Ayotte in New Hampshire.
And maybe a dozen or so more . . .
I need to raise at least $250,000 by next Wednesday to fund this much program.
Please consider chipping in just $10 or $20 towards that goal today.
You see, mobilizing the grassroots isn’t cheap.
But when thousands of pro-gun Americans join together, each chipping in just $10 or $20 each, we have a significant impact.
Here's a breakdown of what your contribution can buy:
> 5,000 emails to WorldNetDaily subscribers costs $135.
> 400 postcards, printed and mailed, costs $100.
> 7,500 ads in Glenn Beck's e-newsletter costs $75.
> 10,000 views on Drudge Report costs $50.
> 20 personal letters addressed to local gun owners costs $10.
These are all concrete actions designed to turn up the heat on the Senate.
If we’re able to fund enough of this program, we’ll defeat the UN Treaty just like we defeated Obama’s gun control in April.
And if we raise at least $250,000 by next Wednesday, we’ll be able to launch this program.
So will you chip in just $10 or $20 today?
And defeating the UN Small Arms Treaty really is critical for our Second Amendment rights.
Introductory language already includes:
*** Mandated national "screening" for all persons seeking to own guns, giving bureaucrats the final say on whether or not you’re "competent" enough to own a gun;
*** Licenses for gun and ammo sales, and perhaps even bans on certain types of firearms. This could include anything from semi-auto rifles to shotguns to handguns!
*** Restrictions on how many guns and ammo any properly-licensed individual may legally own;
*** Bans on magazines holding more than ten rounds;
*** Bans on owning a firearm for self-defense -- unless a citizen can somehow demonstrate need and get federal government approval.
Already, parts of the U.N.’s radical agenda are slipping through covertly.
In fact, Obama’s State Department even bragged that Project Gunrunner and Operation Fast and Furious are implementations of the U.N. anti-Second Amendment agenda!
If they pass the UN Treaty, the floodgates would be open.
So help me raise $250,000 to defeat this treaty by next Wednesday by chipping in just $10 or $20 today.
With your help, we will continue to turn up the heat on targeted Senators to defeat the UN Small Arms Treaty.
Direct mail. Phones. E-mail. Blogs. Guest editorials. Press conferences. Hard-hitting internet, newspaper, radio and even TV ads if funding permits. The whole nine yards.
Of course, a program of this scale is only possible if you help me raise $250,000 by next Wednesday to put my plan into action.
So please help with your most generous contribution today.
And every dollar counts in this fight so even if you can only chip in $10 or $20, it will make a difference.
Thank you in advance.
For Freedom,
Dudley Brown
Executive Vice President
