HERE IS THE TIMELINE OF WHAT HAPPENED IN BENGHAZI AND THE COVER-UP THAT FOLLOWED

September 11th is a day we solemnly remember two tragedies. Firstly, the 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon which claimed nearly 3,000 lives and irrevocably changed American history, and, secondly, the 2012 terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya. The second tragedy could have doomed President Barack Obama's reelection, however, his administration weathered the storm by clinging to a false, self-serving narrative for as long as possible.

Here is a complete timeline of the events at Benghazi:

9:30 PM September 11th: the attack begins as dozens of heavily armed terrorists storm the compound from multiple directions. Security personnel monitoring the consulate's cameras hit the alarm – possibly waking Ambassador John Christopher Stevens who had already retired to his room.

A loud explosion can be heard as the compound is pelted with shrapnel and the gate is breached. Terrorists immediately set fire to a barracks adjacent to the damaged gate they entered through and proceed towards the main building – where the ambassador waits.

10:00 PM September 11th: Ambassador Stevens, security officer Scott Strickland, and information management officer Sean Smith make their way to a secure room as a large number of armed men shouting "Allāhu Akbar" toss grenades over the compound's walls.

They enter the building with heavy weapons but cannot pry open the door to the secure room.

A U.S. quick reaction force is located one mile away and coming. Additional calls were made to the embassy in Tripoli, the State Department in Washington, and a pro-U.S. militia in the area.

10:30 PM September 11th: Ambassador Stevens and the other Americans in the main compound's safe haven are overwhelmed but safe – for the moment.

Things change when the compound is set ablaze by terrorist insurgents. Stevens and the others, notably Sean Smith, move to a nearby bathroom before deciding to flee into the night.

Stevens' bodyguard, Diplomatic Special Agent Scott Strickland exits through a window, but neither Stevens nor Smith follows. Overcome by smoke, Strickland cannot find either man.

More Diplomatic Security Service agents arrive to rescue the besieged Americans. They successfully retake the consulate and find Smith's body.

The search for the ambassador has just begun.

11:00 PM September 11th: several members of the Obama administration convene to discuss the unfolding attack and proper plans of action. A drone conducting surveillance on nearby militant camps is redeployed and arrives on the scene to provide Washington with a live video feed.

12:00 AM September 12th: Secretary of State Hillary Clinton notifies the White House of the terror group claiming responsibility for the event Ansar al-Sharia.

The Salafist Islamist militia came into being during the Libyan Civil War in 2011 and advocated for the implementation of Sharia law across the country.

To achieve that goal, its members targeted certain Libyans and Americans, both military personnel and civilians.

1:00 AM September 12th: a rescue team of two active-duty JSOC operators and five CIA personnel makes it to the compound (after paying two pilots $30,000 to fly them from Tripoli – 400 miles away) and moves in to save those pinned down by the Islamic militants.

2:00 AM September 12th: then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was told that every American in Benghazi needed to be evacuated immediately. At this time video emerges of Good Samaritans taking a dead or dying Ambassador Stephens out of the building.

One eyewitness said Stephens initially appeared unconscious and "maybe moved his head, but only once."

Libyans took his body to Benghazi Medical Center where Dr. Ziad Abu Zeid administered CPR to no avail. Zeid reported that Stevens died from asphyxiation caused by smoke inhalation.

4:00 AM September 12th: two CIA operatives, former Navy SEALs Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods are killed by mortar fire. The safe house, a CIA annex, was still full of people and being shelled two hours after then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was told that people needed to be evacuated.

While the compound was being hit by machine gun, rocket, and mortar fire Hillary Clinton was giving her statement to the press. The former secretary of state claimed that a bigoted anti-Muslim video is what caused the attack, something that would later prove to be wholly inaccurate.

5:00 AM September 12th: Hillary Clinton sends an email to her daughter, Chelsea, telling her that two people were killed and that she feared more bodies would be found later that day. The email was sent to Diane Reynolds the alias that Chelsea Clinton used.

This information was not known to the public or the media at the time.

It was uncovered in 2015 by the United States House Select Committee on Benghazi.

10:00 AM September 12th: the bodies of the victims are loaded onto the last plane out of the country. Their final destination will be Andrews Air Force Base outside Washington, D.C. Among the dead are U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens, information management officer Sean Smith, and two CIA operatives and former Navy SEALs Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods.

The Obama administration chose their words carefully the day the public learned of the attack. In the immediate coverage and in response to press inquiries, administration officials refrained from using the word "terrorism." Instead "Act of Terror" was the term used by the White House.

Hillary Clinton would go on to give a speech from the State Department while the consulate still smoldered. During that speech, she praised those who had fallen as "heroes" and again referred to a bigoted anti-Muslim video that she claimed started everything.

However, not everyone was on the same page ... yet.

Several administration officials denied the video's role, simply stating that "we simply don't know.''

An NBC reporter asked White House staffers to comment on information that those responsible for the attack were part of a terror group like Al-Qaeda. They initially stated that it was too early to tell.

At roughly the same time, President Obama gave a speech and stated that he and his administration vigorously condemned anti-Islamic rhetoric. This in reference to an obscure video posted online containing bigoted rhetoric towards Muslims.

September 12th & 13th - Clinton Cover-Up

Hillary Clinton called Egyptian Prime Minister Hesham Qandil around 3:00 p.m. EST and notified him that the U.S. government knew that this attack was pre-planned, not a protest in response to a film that got out of hand.

The call was noted in an email later released in 2015 by the House Select Committee on Benghazi.

On September 13th Hillary Clinton had dinner with the Libyan Ambassador to mark the end of Ramadan. The ambassador apologized for the event, specifically referring to it as a terror attack.

Clinton immediately went on to condemn Islamophobia and once again avoided calling the massacre in Benghazi a terror attack.

September 14th and 15th

On the 14th, despite numerous leaks to the press coming from within the State Department about the terror attack being planned ahead of time, the Obama administration continued to claim that the assault was an escalation from a protest in response to an anti-Muslim video posted online.

The following day Libya's president announced that militants had planned the attack months in advance.

That didn't stop Susan Rice, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, from contradicting the Libyan president by continuing to push the story the Obama administration constructed.

The Obama administration kept this story up for several weeks, then the cracks became too apparent to cover. Infighting began over the story the administration was telling and one by one the officials started to call what happened that night for what it was: a terror attack perpetrated by Islamic extremists.

President Obama, in the midst of a fierce campaign for reelection, was one of the last officials to come clean.

This tragedy showed us how the Obama administration was likely more worried about its public appearance than the lives of U.S. citizens.

Some allege Hillary Clinton’s obsession with her emails at the time may have contributed to the government's failure to defend the consulate.

As patriots, we must remember those that were killed by Islamic terrorists on 9/11/2001 and 9/11/2012. We must also call these attacks for what they are – radical Islamic terrorism.
