(NaturalNews) Victims of serious medical fraud are rejoicing after the Maryland Board of Physicians (MBP) announced that it is revoking the medical license of Dr. Marc Midei. According to an 88-page report of the investigation, Midei performed hundreds of unnecessary surgeries on patients, including putting stents in patients that did not even have blocked or hardened arteries.

A CBS Baltimore report explains that after investigating the situation, which began as a result of hundreds of lawsuits filed by Attorney Jay Miller's law firm against both Midei and St. Joseph Medical Center in Towson where he practiced. The MBP investigation revealed that in four out of five cases reviewed, Midei had fabricated data about the severity of patients' blockages.

"That's what I was hoping for," said Vicki Marrs to CBS Baltimore. Marrs was one of Midei's victims who received an unnecessary stent after he told her that she had a 90 percent blockage. But upon review, it turned out she only had a ten percent blockage. "He doesn't deserve to have his license. I'd like to see him do some jail time."

There are currently 181 lawsuits that have been filed against both Midei and St. Joseph Medical Center. The report indicates that they could be heard in court as early as next spring, but judges are working with attorneys to figure out how to try many of them at the same time in order to avoid a prolonged, excessively drawn-out trial period.

In his book Death by Medicine, Dr. Gary Null makes the claim that unnecessary surgeries are actually quite common in mainstream medicine. A 1995 report states that a shocking 60 percent of all surgeries performed are medically unnecessary -- and most of these are the result of normal medical assessments that have not been fraudulently altered (http://www.naturalnews.com/012291_u...).
