Trump: Obamacare Wreaking ‘Havoc’ on Country

President Barack Obama's Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, known widely as Obamacare, is wreaking havoc on the country, stirring political bickering without even solving the problem of making healthcare more affordable anyway, says real estate mogul Donald Trump.
Forcing mandates on people to buy health insurance won't work, but allowing buyers to bid for services across state lines would.
"That law has brought havoc to this country, it's brought unbelievable hatred among parties," Trump tells CNBC.

"As far as what should be, we should have a system where you're allowed to compete," Trump says.
That would mean letting companies and individuals bid on health insurance from companies outside of their states.
"I have very nice health insurance for my people but have I one bid, I'm not allowed to go outside the New York line, I'm not allowed to go outside the country lines," Trump says.
Get rid of that element and affordable healthcare would be more readily available.
"If I had the right to take 20 companies, all good companies, some based in California and bid out my health insurance policy, I'd have a better health insurance policy for my people at a lesser price," Trump adds.
"You can't go outside of state lines — it's the most arcane and ridiculous law. It's put there for the benefit of the health insurance companies and insurance companies."
"It's almost like a monopoly situation."
The only caveat, Trump says, is require companies competing to sell health insurance meet certain financial standards.
"If they would do that, would you get much less expensive healthcare and it would be much better."
Turning to real estate, Trump says Florida continues to impress.
I think Florida is doing really well," Trump says. "It's coming back."
The Miami real estate market is showing signs of life thanks to demand from buyers in Central and South America and the Caribbean.
"They want to be in Miami in particular," Trump says.
"Brazil is really big and Venezuela is really, really big in the Miami area."
Trump recently bought the Doral Golf Resort outside Miami for $150 million, and has said he plans to invest more than $200 million to revamp the Blue Monster championship course, according to the Associated Press.
"It's a tremendous location, 800 acres right smack in the middle of Miami, and we look to make this one of the great places anywhere in the world for golf," Trump said recently, the AP adds.
"It needs a lot of work. It's a little bit tired, and that's OK. And we're going to do something special."
Trump isn't alone on his views of the president's healthcare policies.
The Supreme Court has been deliberating the president's healthcare overhaul law, and whether it violates the constitution by forcing mandates.
Obama has said rejecting his law would be an overreach on the part of the Supreme Court itself.
"And I'd just remind conservative commentators that, for years, what we have heard is, the biggest problem on the bench was judicial activism, or a lack of judicial restraint, that an unelected group of people would somehow overturn a duly constituted and passed law," Obama said at an appearance with Mexican and Canadian leaders, according to Reuters.
"Well, this is a good example, and I'm pretty confident that this court will recognize that and not take that step."
