All of These Democrats Have Been Arrested
Elected officials are met to be role models and pillars of your community. However, these Democrats aren’t nearly the upstanding citizens they would prefer their voters believe they are. Each of these Democrats has been arrested for their dubious dealings and has had to pay the price.
Just wait until you see what former Rep. Mel Reynolds did! It’s disgusting.
Rep. Chaka Fattah
Pennsylvania Congressman Chaka Fattah was convicted on charges of racketeering and accepting an illegal $1 million campaign contribution which he then partially paid back using government funds. Fattah was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison.

New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez was indicted on bribery and fraud charges. The charges stemmed from $660,000 in campaign contributions that helped the Democrat get re-elected in 2012.
Rep. William Jefferson
The Louisiana Democrat was indicted on charges of accepting about a half-million dollars in bribes – $90,000 of which was hidden in his freezer before being discovered by the FBI. He was convicted and sentenced to 13 years in prison.
Rep. Corrine Brown
The Florida congresswoman was indicted in 2016 on fraud and conspiracy charges tied to allegations that she solicited donations for education scholarships for minority students then diverted most of the funds to her own accounts. The Democrat was convicted in 2017 and sentenced to five years in prison.
North Carolina Gov. Mike Easley
The former Governor of North Carolina, Mike Easley was convicted after breaking campaign finance law. He is the first North Carolina governor to be convicted of a felony.
Rep. Katie Hill

California Representative Katie Hill was never arrested but did resign from Congress after she was accused of having an affair with one of her male Congressional staffers. Later, Hill admitted to having an affair before entering Congress with a 22-year old campaign staffer.
Rep. Anthony Weiner

New York Congressman and unsuccessful New York City mayoral candidate, Anthony Weiner was arrested for sending sexually explicit images to a minor. Weiner was sentenced to 21 months in federal prison along with a $10,000 fine and must register as a sex offender.
Rep. Mel Reynolds

Former Illinois Rep. Mel Reynolds was convicted on 12 counts of criminal sexual assault, sexual abuse, obstruction of justice, and solicitation of child pornography. He was later convicted of 12 counts of bank fraud. In August 1994, Reynolds was indicted for sexual assault and criminal sexual abuse for engaging in a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old campaign volunteer that began during the 1992 campaign. He also faced charges of child pornography for asking the underage campaign worker to obtain “lewd photographs of another girl who was age 15” and obstruction of justice for convincing one of the girls involved to lie to authorities.
