Coronavirus has come to the United States and some states have been affected more than others. California, Washington, and New York have been hit hardest.
According to CNN:
(CNN)The first US case of the coronavirus was reported in January -- a Washington state man who had recently returned from China. A little more than a month later, the country has reported at least 2,548 cases in 49 states, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands and the District of Columbia.
At least 50 people have died: 37 in Washington state, five in California, two in Florida and one each in Colorado, Georgia, Kansas, New Jersey, New York and South Dakota.
CNN revised the number of cases and deaths in Florida down on Saturday, after it was determined that a Florida resident who died in California was counted twice. Both states had accounted for that individual.
As local leaders work to curb the spread of the virus within the US, health officials say they expect the number of cases to keep climbing as more people are tested.
