Memory Foam mattress WARNING: Chemical offgassing affecting customers
We don’t yet know what chemicals are offgassing from memory foam mattresses, but we are seeing an increased number of reports from users who are experience what appear to be health effects from sleeping on new memory foam mattresses.
Unlike natural latex rubber, memory foam is a synthetic creation. I have personally experienced a near loss of consciousness from working out on a treadmill the day after sleeping on a new memory foam mattress for the first time. That was several years ago, and I’ve been sleeping on a natural latex foam mattress ever since (without any problems whatsoever).
We anticipate conducting mass spec analysis of the chemicals being emitted by memory foam mattresses and will bring you that news once we have the research completed. In the mean time, you may wish to avoid memory foam mattresses and choose natural latex instead (as long as you’re not allergic to latex, of course). Watch for those lab test results at NaturalNews.com.
Latex mattresses are a fantastic choice and last far longer than spring mattresses, with near-zero “sagging” or loss of resiliency. They’re also made from a renewable, plant-based source: Tree sap. (That’s where latex comes from.)
