Victory in South Dakota!
Abortion is a heinous act performed upon the most innocent of human beings. It might be compared to Herod's slaughter of the innocents at the time of Christ. It is long past time to end this blot on our national honor. There are two paths to end the promotion of abortion by the Federal Government:
Begin a campaign to have a law similar to South Dakota's passed by your state. All 50 of the states already have laws regulating abortions. See: http://hometown.aol.com/abtrbng/stablw.htm
The Mississippi Legislature and several other states are considering bills very similar to South Dakota's . Now is the time to press for a similar law in your state. The consideration of these laws by the Supreme Court may very well overturn Roe vs Wade and similar pro-abortion decisions.
Congress may limit the Appellate Jurisdiction of the Supreme Court in matters concerning abortion. The Constitution grants Congress the authority to limit which cases upon which the Supreme Court may rule as a check on an overactive National Judiciary . (See Article III, Section 2, paragraph 2 of the Constitution.) Write your Senators and Representative asking them to sponsor a bill excluding abortion cases from the Supreme Court. This may be a more sure approach to ending Federal interference in abortion matters than asking for a new ruling. After years of judicial wrangling, the Supreme Court could well give a new ruling as distorted and un-constitutional as Roe vs. Wade. See IAP Resolution of Abortion for thoughts for your letter: http://www.usiap.org/ActionItems/AbortionItems/AbortionResolutionText. html
Please act upon both of these courses of action because each will generate support for the other. Please join with us in prayer that our legislators will stand strong for the lives of one million babies brutally killed each year, and that the financial, media, and legislative support for abortion will dwindle and disappear.
When Federal promotion of abortions ceases, we will have made a good start on re-affirming the moral character of our nation.
