Report: White House Prepares Executive Action on Big Tech Bias

The White House is preparing executive action to tackle big tech bias against conservatives and non-progressives, according to a report by Politico.
President Donald Trump has focused increased attention on the issue of Silicon Valley bias and discrimination in recent months, as numerous leaks and testimony from big tech insiders has shone a light on anti-conservative sentiment in the tech industry.

The White House is circulating drafts of a proposed executive order that would address allegations of anti-conservative bias by social media companies, according to a White House official and two other people familiar with the matter — a month after President Donald Trump pledged to explore “all regulatory and legislative solutions” on the issue.
None of the three would describe the contents of the order, which one person cautioned has already taken many different forms and remains in flux.
But its existence, and the deliberations surrounding it, are evidence that the administration is taking a serious look at wielding the federal government’s power against Silicon Valley.
“If the internet is going to be presented as this egalitarian platform and most of Twitter is liberal cesspools of venom, then at least the president wants some fairness in the system,” the White House official said. “But look, we also think that social media plays a vital role. They have a vital role and an increasing responsibility to the culture that has helped make them so profitable and so prominent.”
The news comes just days after President Trump blasted Google CEO Sundar Pichai for his alleged false promises of political neutrality.
Recent leaks have exposed Silicon Valley’s bias against conservatives. Breitbart News has exposed widespread search manipulation by Google and YouTube, including deliberate manipulation of search results for political topics like “abortion” and “Federal Reserve” at the behest of left-wing journalists. Breitbart News also published leaked video footage of Google executives expressing dismay at the election of President Trump, and promising to make his populist movement a “blip” or “hiccup” in history.
Other tech companies have also been exposed — Facebook has put political figures on a list of potential “hate agents” for censorship, while Twitter employees have been caught by Project Veritas admitting to censorship of accounts that express an interest in “God, guns and America.

It’s no secret that Facebook and the Silicon Valley tech giants discriminate against conservatives.
Facebook has been eliminating traffic to conservative websites since the 2016 election.
Facebook eliminated page views to a majority of top pro-Trump conservative publishers following the 2016 election.
Facebook continues to wipe out conservative publishers.
Over the weekend The Gateway Pundit posted an article on the El Paso mass shooter. The Walmart killer posted a manifesto online before he proceeded to murder 21 people at the Walmart store. The Gateway Pundit contributor Byron McKeeby reported on Saturday night that the manifesto was written by a white supremacist progressive. The killer was without question a progressive. Rush Limbaugh echoed this sentiment today on his show.)
But the leftists running Facebook would not allow this story to be posted. TRUTH is the new hate speech.
Facebook denied access to our reporting blocking users from seeing or posting our content.
Here are a couple of the many emails we received this weekend.
On Monday the great Rush Limbaugh ran a segment on Google and Facebook and how the social media giants threaten our elections. Then Rush Limbaugh brought up how Facebook has censored The Gateway Pundit page.

I think it’s a far, far bigger threat that Google and Facebook pose because the threat is that they pose is largely invisible. They’re not on the front lines. Google is not out manning phone banks. They’re not running around town registering voters per se. What they are doing is engaging in constant human manipulation. Now, we’ve all heard the stories about how Google and Facebook are censoring conservative content.
Whole websites, whole blogospheres, individuals, and then an individual tweet. I had a friend who simply clicked on a link to the website the Gateway Pundit and Facebook sent them a warning saying that this is a dangerous site. You should monitor this site. We will be monitoring this site. You should restrict your usage of this website. Gateway Pundit. It’s a conservative blog and website that is no threat to Google or anybody.

None of the three people could say what penalties, if any, the order would envision for companies deemed to be censoring political viewpoints.
The order, which deals with other topics besides tech bias, is still in the early drafting stages and is not expected to be issued imminently.
