Are We Alone?

National Geographic Magazine asks this question; could there really be life beyond Earth? Through a combination of captivating narrative and scientific facts, author Gloria Skurzynski skillfully demonstrates how the quest for extraterrestrial life is real, widespread, and growing. Experts are studying right now to "unearth" the truth about alien life. From the SETI program, which searches for radio signals from deep space, to researchers who study organisms that live in extreme environments on Earth, the chase is on! "Skurzynski conveys a strong sense of scientists' enthusiasm for the search for extraterrestrial life while providing a glimpse of the tenacity, patience, and hope that the search requires. Scientists now regularly find exoplanets within the Milky Way and 403 have been catalogued since 1995. Caleb Scharf, head of Columbia University's Astrobiology Center states, "...it will not be easy to find life on the planets of other stars. But we now have reason to believe that billions of such planets must exist and that they hold the promise of expanding the scope of human knowledge but also the richness of the human imagination." Most of the exoplanets found orbit stars within 400 light years of our solar system. The best hunting grounds may be dwarf stars, smaller than the sun. Such stars are plentiful (seven of the ten stars nearest to Earth are M dwarfs) they enjoy long, stable careers, providing a steady supply of sunlight to any life-bearing plane ts that might occupy their habitable zones. Small stars are like small campfires, where campers must sit close to be comfortable. Scientists are generally locating huge planets much larger than Jupiter or Saturn because they are the easiest to find. Many of the stars have Solar systems composed of multiple planets. Why Are They Here?

Editor's Note: Although the National Geographic article does not mention visitors from these other planets, it clearly lays out the fact they might exist. Additionally, these intelligent life forms would most likely come from planets orbiting dwarf stars with dimmer light. These intelligent life forms would likely need larger eyes to capture the light. Often abductees report aliens with large eyes and gray skin indicating their star does not send out enough ultraviolet rays to tan the skin and provide adequate Vitamin D. I assume that aliens and humans have similar health requirements, since we appear to be able to successfully reproduce together. The Bible and many ancient scriptures tell us: "Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward --- when the sons of God went to the daughters of men and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown." Genesis 6.

Gray skin in humans is an indication of poor health. The most obvious question is why are the aliens here? We can speculate their sun is dying or they have an over population of their planet that is causing them to seek new planets to settle. The aliens know we enjoy a wonderful Earth and a stable Sun that provides energy, and sends us life giving light for thousands of plants and animals, and billions of healthy intelligent people. The sun sends us:

Infrared Light: Infrared waves (above 700nm) include electric waves, radio waves, infrared and shortwave infrared, but only this last type reaches the Earth. Shortwave infrared waves, which give us heat, make up about 49 percent of the solar radiation we receive on Earth.

Visible Light: Visible rays (400nm to 700nm) cause illumination we can see as colors, including red, yellow, green, blue and violet. These account for about 46 percent of the Earth's solar radiation.

Ultraviolet Light: Ultraviolet rays (200 nm to 400 nm) comprise the remaining 4 or 5 percent radiation we receive on Earth. Of all invisible rays-including cosmic rays, gamma rays, X-rays and three forms of ultraviolet light-only two of the ultraviolet light rays actually penetrate the Earth's atmosphere. These are the same two invisible light rays used in tanning equipment. Ultraviolet light rays are energy waves that are shorter in length than visible light rays. Because of this, the human eye cannot see ultraviolet light. However, we can see the effects of ultraviolet light, such as tan skin, on the human body. Three categories of ultraviolet light exist:

Ultraviolet A. UVA rays are the longest (320nm to 400nm).Ultraviolet B. UVB rays are shorter than UVA rays (290nm to 320nm). Ultraviolet C. UVC rays are the shortest (200nm to 290nm).

Of these three categories of UV rays, only UVA and UVB pass through the Earth's atmospheric filter. More UVA hits Earth than UVB because the filter prevents the passage of shorter wavelengths of UVB that resemble UVC. If UVC light also passed through, it would have devastating effects on this planet, which is why the depletion of the ozone layer in the atmosphere is of great concern. UVA and UVB light waves cause skin to tan. Abductees have frequently reported that alien medicine is based on blue and green light and light rays are replicated in special lamps to promote healing. (UFOs are often visible in infrared or ultraviolet light.)

The aliens may have illnesses and lack vitamins such as D, and need to migrate to improve their DNA, genes and the overall health of their bodies. The lack of proper sunlight can cause chronic diseases, increase cardiovascular risk, and cognitive impairment, cause asthma in children, tumors, and bone weakness. Liver or kidney problems may cause changes in skin pigmentation due to the accumulation of toxins in the body. Gray skin also indicates chronic fatigue and anemia. Not getting enough sunshine may hinder the intake of calcium and phosphoric, causing osteoporosis. Research suggests that Vitamin D could play a role in the prevention and treatment of a number of different conditions, including diabetes, hypertension, and glucose intolerance. It supports key mineral absorption and metabolism, regulates normal cell differentiation and proliferation, promotes insulin sensitivity and blood sugar regulation and regulates over 200 genes through throughout the b ody.

Our body cannot create vitamin D on its own. We must obtain our required Vitamin D by sun exposure as little as a couple of hours per week - provided the UVB rays are strong enough. Our sun provides most of the Vitamin D needed for a healthy body, but a dying or weak sun may not. There are also a few foods we can eat to obtain Vitamin D but the list isn't very long, and you have to eat a lot of them to avoid Vitamin D deficiency. Most of the natural sources for Vitamin D are fish and fish oils, cod liver oil, herring, catfish, salmon, sardines, mackerel, caviar, egg yolks, shiitake mushrooms, cheese, fortified milk and beef liver. There have been numerous reports of aliens taking fish from the sea and capturing cattle and animals. Vitamin D works in concert with other nutrients and hormones in your body to support healthy bone renewal - an ongoing process of mineralization and demineralization which, when awry, shows up as rickets in children and osteomalacia ("soft bones") or osteoporosis ("porous bones") in adults. We can assume aliens need various vitamins and minerals as we do for proper health and their reproduction program.

Researchers are discovering that D also promotes normal cell growth and differentiation throughout the body, working as a key factor in maintaining hormonal balance and a healthy immune system. It appears that calcitriol actually becomes part of the physical composition of cells, assisting in the buildup and breakdown of healthy tissue - in other words, regulating the processes that keep you well. In Boston, Massachusetts, for instance, there is insufficient ultraviolet radiation in the sunlight for skin to make adequate amounts of Vitamin D from early November to early March. On the South Island of New Zealand, vitamin D deficiency is a real risk from early May to early September. In Calgary, Alberta, residents don't get enough vitamin D even if they get daily sun exposure from October until nearly April. And in northern Europe, Alaska, and Russia, the problem is even worse. Doctors claim 85% of their patients come up with a vitamin D deficiency. It seems l ogical to assume an alien race would have similar requirements for a healthy life.

Alien Graveyard Allegedly Found in Rwanda

Erik Van Datiken reports, "Scientists say they have found an extraterrestrial cemetery in central Africa that is at least 500 years old! The Swiss anthropologist Dr. Hugo Childs, "There must be 200 bodies buried there and not a single one of them is human," told reporters in Kigali, Rwanda. "They are in amazing state of preservation to be so old," he added. "Soil and tissue samples indicate the bodies have been in the ground since the 1400s. We're now trying to figure out where they came from - and what killed them." Dr. Childs and his colleagues reportedly discovered the alien graveyard on a routine survey of the Rwandan jungle. Excavation reportedly revealed alien bodies - stacked in fives in a jungle clearing. "The creatures themselves were much taller and skinnier than humans,"< /b> said the expert. "They stood about 7 feet tall and they were not any bigger around than small sapling trees; their heads were larger than the average man's and they had no mouth, nose or eyes to speak of." I assume that they communicated with one another telepathically and moved around like bats with some kind of biological radar." Without further study there is no way to tell for sure what killed the extraterrestrials. But Dr. Childs speculated that the 200 aliens were part of a single landing party that encountered a deadly flu virus. Mars Strange Wreckage Found

Dr. Buchli writes, "Here are seven parallel structures lines covering and area three by six miles on Mars. White line is six miles long located at 21 02 S 139 06 E. Michael Cohen writes, NASA researchers are said to be intrigued by an image taken by the Mars exploration rover Spirit sometime this year between May and June. The image, in which one can see an unusual semi-circular formation, shows what some believe might be the wreckage of a UFO or possibly some type of engine part or structure, adding weight to the notion that Mars has been visited or is currently being visited by aliens.

A number of experts have suggested, alternatively, that the foundations of yet another alleged ancient Martian structure, demonstrating that civilization once existed on the red planet, are seen in this photo. Others have claimed that the picture simply shows oddly shaped rocks and nothing more.

The notion that Mars was once home to a technological civilization is not new and dates back to the 1800s. It has been suggested by some UFO researchers that humans might have originated in Mars, having fled the planet after a climactic catastrophe. Kazakhstan Nazca Lines Discovered

Michael Cohen - Kazhakstan is an area of intense UFO sightings and activity. Recently the Kazakhstan Government toyed with the idea of creating a UFO landing field and an alien embassy.

Media outlets as well as the official government website in Kazakhstan are reporting the surprise discovery of local geoglyphs or 'Nazca Lines'. Geoglyphs are drawings created on the ground by arranging stones or removing the top layers of earth. These designs typically cover large areas. The most famous geoglyphs are those found in the Nazca desert in Peru. These show hummingbirds, spiders, monkeys, fish, sharks, llamas, and lizards.

New Drone RQ-170 Sentinel Revealed

The Air Force Association revealed it has a new stealth reconnaissance drone, the RQ-170 Sentinel, In a brief release December 4, 2009, Pentagon officials confirmed that the aircraft is the same one that has shown up twice in the French press as a "mystery" airplane photographed in the vicinity of Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan. Word of the new drone first appeared in an April 2009 blog of the British magazine Unmanned Vehicles, but USAF refrained from comment until a French blog Secret Defense of Liberation newspaper published an actual-though grainy-photo on Dec. 1, 2009. According to USAF, the service "is developing" the unmanned aircraft system "to provide reconnaissance and surveillance support to forward-deployed combat forces" and was built by Lockheed Martin's Skunkworks. Arizona Lights

On December 3, 2009, I looked out window and noticed an object displaying unusual light patterns. After watching for several seconds I did not believe the object was an aircraft, so I grabbed two different cameras and tried to photograph but failed. It was being circled by other aircraft which displayed the usual aircraft flashes and strobes. The object changed from different colored lights in a horizontal row to a large glowing white light filmed for several minutes until it disappeared behind the mountain.

34.63 23 N 111.778 W - I was watching out the window the brightest star in the sky on December 4, 2009, and saw a flickering object. I watched it about an hour and noticed it had dropped so I woke my girlfriend and we both went outside and I started to try to film it. After some camera trouble, I captured 23 minutes of film until it went behind the mountain. The video is high quality although I need to get a tripod today because it is difficult to hold my arms still. Here is one of the pictures I snapped that are not good. My girlfriend grabbed the binoculars and also saw it. The video is 2 gigs and too large to upload. This is the second night in a row I saw and filmed this object. California Orange Light

SANTA CLARA - I walked outside my house on December 4, 2009, and saw an orange light in the sky that was a color I'd never seen in the sky before. It was about the size of Venus in the evening winter sky when I first saw it. It was flying southwest in a zigzag motion slowly toward me. I watched it meander closer and closer and grow larger. It was flying at about 7,500 feet in altitude. Five miles NE of my house and was now 2-1/2 times the size of Venus and about as bright. The single light became two, and then three very small spheres dropped from the object. The three spheres were tiny from my perspective and orange. The spheres appeared to slow and then disappeared. It was slightly foggy so I'm unsure if the spheres went purposefully invisible or simply went out of sight to me.

In the last two weeks my wife and I have seen several UFOs; myself seeing four. I saw several lights performing non-typical maneuvers at very high altitude around midnight. The other was a small metallic sphere twice the size of Venus, in broad daylight. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Colorado Photo

Aurora - I decided to go out and take some pictures of the sky around 3 PM, on November 6, 2009, and uploaded to my computer spotted this white object. The second one is dark, and appears to be moving. I took no pictures of any visible object flying. These just showed up on the pictures.

I also had a visual UFO sighting sometime back in March of 2009, I was coming home on the RTD Train, riding backwards, and my view was to the north toward Boulder, and just sitting there above the plains this side of the mountains was a dark disc shaped object. There were no clouds at that time; it was around 4:30 pm. Of course the train was moving and then my view was blocked. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Indiana Diamond Craft

LAFAYETTE - I was traveling south on I-65 near MM 158 when I noticed a strange V shaped cloud which looked on August 24, 2009. I took a sequence of ten photos at about 1 second intervals and didn't see the diamond shape object until after reviewing the photos. I was driving at the time so I have idea what happened to the object. Since then I have noticed more of these objects that just kind of pop-up and disappear very quickly and are completely silent. They move so fast that if hadn't actually caught one with my camera I would not know what I was seeing. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Illinois Lights

PITTSFIELD - At about 9:26 PM, on December 5, 2009, my wife was on our back deck and yelled to come outside now! I joined her on the deck and she pointed above us at seven or eight white star like lights moving at high speed. It was hard to determine the exact number as they were maneuvering in and out, back and forth, and around each other. The movements were not possible by conventional aircraft. All of the lights traveled at the exact same speed and in the exact same direction WNW across the sky. No sound was evident and they had left our field of view within 30 seconds of my arrival. Minnesota 'V' Lights

BURNSVILLE - I went out on my deck, at City Road 5 at about midnight on November 30, 2009. Between the treetops and above in the clear sky I spotted two large orbs of white light rapidly circling each other. The sky was covered by dense clouds and the football field size light circles were quite visible. They maintained their formation from each other, but did move sideways from time to time. It resembled a planet with an orbiting moon. I watched for several minutes and then started to take photographs with my digital camera. Suddenly, several gold orbs appeared in an arc shape as shown in the photo. The sky cleared and the lights vanished. Nevada Huge Bright Thing

ELY - There was a giant super bright star that I thought was a planet until I rounded the corner and it followed on December 5, 2009, It had on an extremely bright light in front and it was flying really low. I turned the corner again and all of a sudden the back side of it was on the other side of the highway. There were 2 other lights in the back with one on each side. It didn't make any noise when it passed over and crossed a very large amount of distance in seconds. Thanks to MUFON CMS

New Jersey Flying Triangle

MEADOWLANDS RACETRACK - I have been a college professor for 29 years, and on July 7, 1994, I saw three gigantic triangular shaped UFOs flying in formation, each the size of a football field at the Meadowlands Racetrack. My husband a Doctor was in the barn with his horses at 4 PM. I was outside rollerblading when I saw a triangle slowly emerge. Then another wing appeared, then still another wing was evident until there finally appeared three giant fully formed triangular shaped UFO's with lights on each of their corners. They hovered above me for several minutes about twice as high as the Empire State Building. They all turned in formation until they were only pencil thin and disappeared. I've seen many planes but nothing comes close to the size of one of these and they made no sound. I caught a comedian's act on TV who stated, "Like the UFO's at the Meadowlands!" then I knew others had seen it.

CARBONDALE - I was driving home from work when a car driving south starts flashing its lights at me and I glanced to the left see a glowing green ball. It's flying fast almost like a flash traveling north. I was amazed and on the right side of Highway 51 I saw a huge low flying triangle with five dim lights traveling northwest towards Cedar Lake. I tried to film with my cell phone but it shows nothing. The triangle moved steady at a pretty good rate. I turned down rifle range and could barely see it through the trees heading towards Cedar Lake. If anyone else saw the flying triangle about 100 yards wide please post your story.

ANDOVER - A black chevron shaped craft flew silently across the airport on December 8, 2009, with pulsing, not strobing lights. It threw an orange cone - vortex shaped light on the ground. Then a red light on the trees, then a white light before it flew across the airport into my neighborhood. This was not an Andover airport craft since we only have six flights per night. CAMDEN - Witness claims he was abducted from his home, by aliens, when he was in third grade on 1959. He claims his grandfather was abducted with him.. Two MUFON investigators had an interview with the witness on Dec 7 2009 at 2:30 pm. North Carolina Flying Triangle

FORT BRAGG - I did not use my real name I don't trust anyone. I was outside my barracks looking over my barracks at 8 PM, when it flies over it for three and a half minutes. It flew from left to right I mean like from one side of my barracks to the other slowly took off. I mean it took off so quick like a beam of light man. What the hell was it?

Oregon Rectangle

MONMOUTH - I saw small bright lights to the south on December 1, 2009, at 2 AM. The white light radiated around several lights along the side horizontally. The four or five lights appeared to be round on a rectangular bar that was centered on the UFO. The bar must have been a strip that ran around the UFO, but I could only see the view as a front. I could see that there was a rounded top and a bit of light radiating under the UFO also. It sat there for a four minutes, and slowly moved to the west. I left my room for two minutes and when I returned it was gone! I am convinced it was indeed a UFO over Benton County.

Utah Disc

PROVO - The pilot of a twin engine C-47 "Skytrain" transport aircraft of the USAF captured this reddish object on photograph in July, 1966, at 11:00 AM. The aircraft was flying over the Rocky Mountains, at about 40 kilometers southwest of Provo, Utah. The Condon commission, which concluded that UFOs are not worthy of scientific investigations, did analyze the negative at the time and concluded that the photograph shows an ordinary object thrown in the air. Vermont Maneuvering Object

ST ALBANS - I was on my back porch smoking a cigarette at midnight on December 4, 2009, and noticed fast moving lights going east. They then maneuvered left then went back to the course it was on. There is no jet that can change course like this object did, it never slowed down. I have watched numerous planes in this area and it took them allot longer to move than this object. Virginia Reddish Orb.

QUANTICO - Over a year ago, I was coming back from a campground in Virginia and I was with my aunt, brother, and sister and we were in bumper to bumper traffic passing Quantico on October 14, 2008. We were stopped, as the traffic wasn't moving and I was looking out of the window of the car to the left. I was in the backseat of the car. I looked into the woods and saw something strange. It wasn't what would usually be in the woods, like a deer, but it was a dim reddish orb. It was extremely dim but started to gradually brighten. Then red transparent balloons started appearing in front of our car close to the ground. I was talking to my aunt and sister, and they could see them too. FALLS CHURCH - On November 28, 2009, at 9:50 PM, the witness states, "I saw this triangle object in the sky not making any noise or anything, so I ran to my car to get my camera and managed to get a couple shots off before my camera died." when I tried to switch to video. The object was a little lower than a plane usually flies and it had five white lights on the bottom with one flashing in a triangular pattern. Beware of false UFO reports on MUFON and elsewhere concerning the fake "stealth blimp". The stealth blimp is a government black-ops disinformation campaign designed to dirty the waters in respect to the authentic gigantic triangular UFOs of extraterrestrial origin. ROSARIO - A couple traveling along the river in the area north of Rosario on October 8, 2009, claimed to have seen an animal being abducted by a flying saucer on October 8, 2009. The couple told the story to journalist Guillermo Brasca in a report transmitted by the Telenoche program on Channel 3. They provided photos which are not entirely clear. "We were surprised to see some large strange white thing flying; we made a close up and it was a cow flying, and above it, there was a flying saucer," said Laura. BAHIA - This photo was taken in early October 2009, the witness stopped the car to take photos of the landscape but the camera kept shutting off. Three attempts were made, all of them unsuccessful. She finally resumed her journey and upon arriving home, she was amazed to see that a photo had in fact been taken of the landscape, displaying a yellow object in the sky. OSHAWA - On October 8, 2009, before 6:30 AM, while walking my I noticed a low white light flying east on a straight flight path about 500 yards away. It flew slower than Cessna light aircraft. I grabbed my camera and videotaped this object, as it moved across the sky for over thirty seconds. There was no motor sound as I filmed and watched it for a minute. GULF ISLANDS - On November 29, 2009, at 11 PM, I saw two bright yellow lights like bright flares that were hovering so I pulled over and observed. The light on the right was blinking off and on. I thought they might be helicopters but they did not display normal movement. I went home and my wife told me a plane went down earlier in the day at Saturna and a rescue mission was in progress.

AUCKLAND - Driving a bus on June 15, 2009, at 6:45 PM, I noticed two green lights in the sky a couple kilometers distant when the object turned towards the St. Luke's Shopping Mall, where I had stopped to pick up passengers. It flew on a gently descending course and was lit up underneath by lights in the shopping mall. It was no aeroplane and larger than the bus I was driving. It had two green lights on its left side, two red lights on its right with one flashing. A very bright white light was on the front. It was an isosceles black triangle flying without any sound or means of propulsion. It flew less than a hundred meters from me at the speed of a small aeroplane. There were no visible windows on it. The triangle flew parallel with Morningside Drive coming from Blockhouse Bay and heading towards Western Springs. Thanks to MUFON CMS

Puerto Rico Astronomer Photographs UFO

CABO ROJO - Witness states, "I was photographing the moon on November 20, 2009, and when I viewed the photos on my computer, I noticed a bright object to the right of the moon that almost looks like a typical flying saucer". I am an astronomer, with three publications in Astronomy magazine, so I can explain away things like it being a satellite, airplane, helicopter or internal reflection but I send you this because I honestly do not know what it could be. Spain Lights

MALAGA - My wife and I were walking the dog along the Paseo Maritimo on a dark clear night with bright stars at about 7 PM, when I pointed out to my wife a high flying bright yellowish object moving southwesterly. It was much higher than an aircraft and suddenly stopped and began moving towards us. We are on the flight path for aircraft going to North Africa. My wife said, "That is no plane, it does not have any blinking lights on it". As we talked, a plane passed under the light so we could ascertain that it was much higher than conventional aircraft. Suddenly the light disappeared momentarily, reappeared, and started to move in an easterly direction slowly. UK/England - UFO Captures Water Buffalo

NEWCASTLE - I took photo at Beamish Open Air Museum in Co Durham on September 2, 2009, of the scenery for moment. Nothing unusual was happening and I did not notice anything in the sky. I was showing my grandmother photos of the trip last night and we noticed this UFO in the top left corner of the photograph. I am puzzled as to what it could be.

SHREWSBURY - I was driving back towards Shrewsbury at about 8 PM on November 30, 2009, and as I past the turn for the village of Clive I noticed a very bright light over Grinshill Hill. There was a large disc shaped object that had what looked like a bite taken out of it. I reckon it was about 40-50feet across and omitted red, yellow, orange and blue lights and had a dark circle in its centre. I couldn't hear any noise and it just sort of hung there for several minutes. It then suddenly flipped over and shot off with a red flash to the west. I did notice helicopters operating to the east which were probably from RAF Shawbury. Thanks to MUFON CMS

BASINGSTOKE, HAMPSHIRE - The Sun reports, "Derek Bridges has revealed how he shot extraordinary footage which UFO experts say shows aliens beaming a water buffalo into their spaceship. Pensioner Derek filmed the eerie scene from his window after spotting pulsating glowing orbs hovering over a neighboring farm late at night." The two bright lights hover high over fields, while an animal appears to dangle below before vanishing into them. A high-pitched screeching noise can be heard before the UFOs finally disappear into the night. Grandfather Derek, 69, said: "I couldn't believe my eyes. I'm convinced it is the real thing." He told how he spotted the bizarre lights over a neighboring farm as he looked out of his window while getting ready for bed Quick-thinking Derek grabbed his camcorder and began filming the incident above 2,500-acre Laverstoke Park Farm in Overton village at about 10.30 pm. It has one of the country's biggest herds of water buffalo and is clos e to a military base used by special forces.

Derek said: "I just looked out of the window before going to bed. I wasn't sure what I was seeing at the time. "I have a keen eye and I could see something glowing which looked dark red about half a mile away. "I kept looking at it for about 20 minutes and then suddenly a bright white light appeared which was very powerful.

"At that point I picked up my video camera and filmed what I saw. I saw two white lights lifting up and I just kept filming. The lights were high in the sky. They couldn't have been anything on the ground. "I did not realize at the time that something was dangling beneath but when I played it back the next day on a big screen I could see it there. "I believe it's a UFO and this animal, which could be a bison or a horse, seems to be being beamed up". snip
