Elder's Meditation of the Day - February 14, 2007
Birdman
Great Spirit, let me lead a simple life.
Seven years ago today my wife and I were married at a little chapel in the Great Smoky Mountains. For us, today is both Valentine's Day and our Wedding Anniversary.
It has been a great 7 years. And I'm not writing this just in case my wife reads this BLOG. We still love each other. I still think about her everyday, even on really busy days. We talk to each other over the telephone each day during the day. even though we see each other every morning and evening. Like all marriages we've been through challenging times together and yet it all still works.
My life is more balanced and complete with her in it. I can see the ways we influence each other too. I'm more comfortable being who I am and I have a better understanding of how other people perceive the world. My wife has blossomed into a geek. In 1998 we purchased a wireless notebook for her and it is now difficult to separate her from it. If you could see us in our day-to-day lives you would see plenty of times where the two of us are sitting in a room together both working on our projects with wireless notebooks on our laps.
We often kid about how we signed a "50 year contract" when we were married. I'm looking forward to the future with sincere optimism.
