A very special, 5-year-old Alabama boy just going out to dinner saw past the things that would cause most people to walk on by.
When Josiah Duncan and his mom saw a homeless man outside a local Waffle House, the youngster saw more than just his filthy clothing and a bag with his belongings. Josiah saw a human being in need. Then, with mom Ava Faulk’s help, he took action, reports WSFA 12.
He insisted that the man head inside the restaurant, and order some food. But Josiah’s actions didn’t stop with providing a hot meal. His simple act of kindness was followed up by an extraordinary act of faith that touched all who witnessed it.

“I wanted to say the blessing with him,” Duncan said.And Josiah did, publicly, with 11 other customers watching. Josiah sang the blessing as loud as his little voice could muster.“God our Father, God our Father, we thank you, we thank you, for our many blessings, for our many blessings, Amen, Amen.”“The man cried. I cried. Everybody cried,” Faulk admitted.
WSFA 12’s post to Facebook about the incident drew more than 3,600 likes and over 1,400 shares.
