Children Band Together to Stop the Cops from Hauling an Innocent Elderly Woman Off to Jail
Thanks to the local community Gerry Suttle is now longer considered a criminal.
Riesel, TX — Thursday, the Free Thought Project reported the story of 75-year-old Gerry Suttle, who had a warrant out for her arrest because her grass was not within the arbitrary confines of the state’s regulations.
Suttle, who never had so much as a speeding ticket, was shocked when she found out that she was a wanted fugitive. But she showed no fear, stating that if they wanted her, they could come and get her.
Suttle was unsure of how she was going to mow her lawn being that she is physically unable to do so. However, after getting word of her predicament, several heroic children from the neighborhood decided to help her out.
Four brothers, who were looking to spend some of their summer vacation helping people, saw Gerry Suttle’s story on a local news station.
“It’s a summer day, we don’t have season passes yet to Hawaiian Falls. What else could we do but go out and help some people,” said Blaine Reynolds, one of the boys. “We haven’t met her yet but she’s 75 years old and she needs some help mowing,” he said. “That’s the least we could do.”
The brothers were a catalyst to others and after they started mowing, others in the community joined in. Within just a couple of hours, the entire lot was now within government regs.
“I cannot believe this,” Suttle said.
Seeing random acts of kindness in a community is always heartening. However, this act, in particular, is especially heartwarming as it’s the community coming together to save an innocent woman from the persecution of the police state.
“I am very seldom without words. This is one time. You might want to mark it down in history that I didn’t have something to say,” said Suttle.
All too often the state beats the idea into the citizens that all police are heroes. However, the heroes in this story are the kids who protected a woman from the police. The police are the villains in this story as they were going to deprive a woman of her freedom because of the height her grass on her own property.
Now that her grass is cut and Suttle is no longer a criminal in violation of the law, will police drop the charges?
