Giant asteroid on collision course with Earth could NOT be stopped by a nuclear bomb, NASA simulation shows

5-6-21 An asteroid simulation exercise led by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) shows that none of our existing technology can take down a hypothetical giant asteroid discovered six months before it arrives. Indeed, the exercise suggests that even a nuclear bomb isn’t enough to break the asteroid apart because the rock is too big. It also shows that preparing a spacecraft to smash into the asteroid is not feasible given the small amount of time remaining before the collision. What happens in the months leading up to an asteroid impact NASA conducted the simulation exercise, which is called “Space Mission Options for the Hypothetical Asteroid Impact Scenario,” from April 26 through April 29 in collaboration with the Federal Emergency Management Agency. For the four-day drill, American and European scientists were given half a year to hatch a plan to stop a fictitious rock on a collision course to Earth.

Frost-Apocalypse Set To Sweep Across US, Could Mark End Of Growing Season

10-6-19 We are tracking frost and freeze potential US temperature weather maps this weekend that indicate a strong possibility frost-apocalypse is headed for the Pacific, Rocky Mountains, and Midwest regions over the next ten days. This could mean the end of the growing season for many agriculture producing states. As shown in the EC Operational maps below, a 32°F contour line in the 5-10 day forecast indicates US frost risks could shift from the Northwest too much of the North Central states, which would officially mark the end of the growing season in those areas if confirmed by mid-month. * * * Andrei Evbuoma, a meteorologist for NOAA National Weather Service, provides further insight into the frost situation in the US, and what he thinks this could mean for grain prices. Frost and freeze watches/warnings hoisted for portions of the north-central and Northeast U.

'Atmospheric river' drives ANOTHER catastrophic rain storm towards California - including its stricken dam - as state braces for MORE flooding and residents are told they could have just 15 minutes to evacuate

2/1 9/17 Rain and wind picked up in Northern California on Saturday renewing flood fears Sections of Interstate-5 in Williams, CA overflowed, blocking traffic for hours Rain is expected to continue through Tuesday prompting evacuations Engineers at the stricken Oroville Dam in Northern California have increased the rate at which they are draining water from the reservoir as a powerful rain storm driven by the phenomenon known as an 'atmospheric river' hits the state. In anticipation of the storm which threatens widespread flooding in many areas, supervisors increased the amount of water being channeled out of the dam to accommodate incoming rain. The amount of water flowing down the spillway was increased from 55,000 cubic feet a second (cfs) to 60,000 cfs on Sunday afternoon. Earlier this week, outflows were at nearly 100,000 cfs. However, an evacuation warning is still being issued as residents immediately below the dam could be at a major risk if the dam were to abruptly fail - as they would not be able to receive warning quickly enough to evacuate.
