Dear Editor of the Reformer
Jacqueline Brook
Last night, I watched PBS’s documentary on our drone war: "NATIONAL BIRD.”
How will we ever atone for our War OF Terror? How will we ever atone for our incessantly offensive foreign policy, going back at least to the end of WWII?
Our foreign policy must be run by people with IQs of zero. The idea that you can eliminate potential bombers by bombing them is akin to the idea that you can eliminate potential fires by hurling Molotov cocktails.
When will we ever know what our Special Forces were up to in 135 countries, in the year 2015 alone? Does any other country even come close to matching our military domination of the planet?
If tornadoes and floods ravaged this entire country every day for a year, would we even get a taste of the havoc we have wreaked around the world?
I just finished reading Michele McPhee’s book “Maximum Harm,” on the Boston bombings. It is a huge indictment of the FBI. While I think the author missed some things and let at least one inaccuracy stand throughout the book (none of which was of any interest to her, im my attempts at communication with her), McPhee offers compelling evidence that, at the very least, Tamerlan Tsarnaev was coddled and protected as an FBI informant for perhaps his entire time in this country. Someone went to great lengths to fabricate a duplicate of one of his immigration forms, related to the time of his entry into this country, with an almost identical photo on it--of someone else.
Why? For what purpose? His family was aided at that time by former CIA-guy Graham Fuller, who the author asserts conceived of the idea of propagating madrassa schools and nurturing extremists, in order to create a proxy force in our war against Russia in Afghanistan.
Mike Whitney recently wrote in a piece at counterpunch.org on what the U.S. did to North Korea in a war that was concluded only with what was intended as a temporary ceasefire agreement:
Repeat: “Reservoirs, irrigation dams, rice crops, hydroelectric dams, population centers” all napalmed, all carpet bombed, all razed to the ground. Nothing was spared. ... “Let them starve. Let them freeze.. Let them eat weeds and roots and rodents to survive. Let them sleep in the ditches and find shelter in the rubble. What do we care? We’re the greatest country on earth. God bless America.”
We are the crazies. Not North Korea. What are people drinking in thewater in Washington, DC? Certainly, worse than Flint, for many more years.
Finally, I urge everyone to read fellow Vermonter Ian Baldwin’sseries on weather modification and geoengineering at http://vermontindependent.org
Our most rabid climate scientists and geoengineers want to fill the atmosphere with sulfates, wrap the planet in interminable clouds, and throw us into a nuclear winter. Imagine the output of all of our solar panels then. Imagine 6 billion people trying to keep themselves warm through summers that never arrive. What is this conversation and effort really about???
